Abstract/Sommario:
John Shaft, an African-American practising as a private detective in Harlem, is hated by the criminal circles of the populous district and by black extremists, who have chosen the path of violence to assert their rights in front of whites. Charged by the boss of the black mafia Bumpy Jonas to track down his mysteriously disappeared daughter, Shaft starts investigating Ben ‘Lumumba’, leader of the extremist Black Panther movement.
