Lorenzo's Oil = L'olio di Lorenzo

Abstract/Sommario: Augusto and Michaela learn that their only son has been affected by an extremely rare and hereditary disease, adrenoleukodystrophy, ALD, which is transmitted from the mother and only affects boys and causes a degeneration of the brain. Doctors have no cure for this newly discovered disease, and for the child they foresee two years of life, which is increasingly painful: because he will become blind and paralysed. The parents, though heartbroken, do not give up.
