Abstract/Sommario: Iiris is a rather plain woman who lives with and helps support her mother and stepfather. Abstract/Sommario: Marlo ha due figli maggiori e uno appena nato. Ogni notte, si alza, riscalda il biberon per allattare il suo bambino e lo culla per farlo addormentare. Quando finalmente potrebbe ritornare a letto, si è già fatta mattina e ci sono molte altre cose da fare, tra cui preparare il pranzo per i figli e le solite faccende giornaliere. Proprio quando Marlo è allo stremo delle forze, incapace di prestare attenzioni alla propria famiglia, su suggerimento e ausilio del fratello, assume una tata per la notte. La tata, il cui nome è Tully, oltre a prendersi cura dei bambini, deve anche occuparsi della madre spossata. Anche se inizialmente Marlo fa molta fatica ad abituarsi alle particolarità, alle stranezze della baby sitter e ai molteplici cambiamenti arrecati alla sua estenuante routine quotidiana, con il passare del tempo le due donne stringeranno una fruttuosa collaborazione che si trasformerà in una vera amicizia.
