Abstract/Sommario: 34-year-old Michiyo Mabuchi (Kumiko Aso) and 26-year-old Yoshimi Tendo (Shota Yasuda) meet at a screenwriting class. Michiyo Mabuchi, who is called "Basyauma" (that is, workhorse), works hard to become a writer, but can't see a future for herself as a screenwriter. Alla metà dell'800 gli avi fondano a New Orleans una grande impresa di cotone, che riesce a spingere nel mondo quattro branche riunite fra di loro da vincoli di parentela e di interesse. Dopo un secolo circa gli esponenti delle quattro diverse famiglie, naturalizzatesi sui luoghi di adozione, si riuniscono a New Orleans per celebrare l'anniversario della fondazione e per stringere maggiormente i propri vincoli. Abstract/Sommario: Tik po terorističnem napadu na Trgovski center v New Yorku 11. septembra se policijski načelnik John McLoughlin s svojim moštvom poda v goreča dvojčka. Kmalu se zgradba nad njimi zruši in fantje ostanejo ujeti pod ruševinami. Prekinjena je vsa komunikacija z zunanjim svetom in tako je njihovo preživetje odvisno od njih samih.
